Dear PRAYING Friends,

Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. ~ Psalms 63:3

MINISTRY NEWS
Many of you are not receiving our email updates so there is much to try to cover at this time. We are now well into our 2nd year of the Bible Institute, where we are seeking to train the young men in our church to be spiritual leaders. We are also asking the Lord to raise up some preachers and especially one to take our place! Please help us to pray about this. There is a real need for training in the basics, such as “responsibility” and “faithfulness.”

Pastor Okanta is teaching the second part of his Pentateuch class. I am teaching Systematic Theology II, Dispensations, Major Prophets, Hermenuetics, and a Pastorial Ministry class. We are staying VERY BUSY! We are also trying to get the men prepared for the time when we will return back to the States for our 2nd furlough. Pray especially for Yaw Holdbrook, David Demordzie, Bernard Oduro, Michael Anafo, Albert Danquah, and Christi Wright. These are the men who hope will be in charge while we are gone. There is still MUCH preparation needed in this area of our ministry here.

Yes, our 2nd Furlough is scheduled to begin the last part of October and continue through March of 2006. If we have not previously presented the work here to your church, we want to get to you folks first. We would also like to be in as many mission conferences as possible. Several churches have already emailed us about being in theirs. We would like to get into some new churches for added support. The cost of fuel was raised from 20,000 to 35,000 cedes/gallon recently and this is going to be a BIG hit on us. That is almost $4.00/gal.

We plan to begin making phone calls to our supporting churches within the next few days. If you would like to contact us to present the work here to your church you may contact us by email HERE , by phone at 011-233-42-35016, or by snail mail (AIR MAIL only) at:

THE HOME FRONT
January 7th our car caught fire and was totally destroyed. Donna had our two girls with her and a young lady from the church. Thankfully they were all able to escape without injury. Through our email update and by others sending this information out, the Lord worked in the hearts of many of our churches to raise the money to purchase a 1997 Toyota 4Runner. The car is in excellent condition and was purchased in Virginia. They are doing some preventive maintenance to the car and soon it will be shipped to us. Please pray that we will not have to pay a heavy duty for importing the car. I recently spoke with a business man in our town who paid $16,000 for a 1996 4Runner that was already here in Ghana, so we are hoping to save quite a bit by shipping it ourselves. We are also bringing in Bibles, tracts, Resource books, and many other ministry and family supplies. Praise the Lord, for His goodness to us! A special THANK YOU to all who gave!!

Yours For Souls in West Africa,
